Boomiki

Ages 3–6

Reading starts with a sound

A phonics game for children aged 3–6. Every letter is a little friend who says its sound: touch one and listen. Sounds join into syllables, syllables into words.

No sign-up. No ads. Works on tablets, phones and computers.

Try it right here

Turn the sound on. Loads only when you tap.

Made so a three‑year‑old can play alone

Reading starts with hearing the sounds inside words. In Boomiki the letters are characters, and touching one makes it say its sound.

  • For children aged 3–6

Every button speaks, nothing needs reading, and big targets forgive little fingers.

  • Taught the way reading works

Letters say their sounds, never their names. The path follows a classic primer, one small step at a time.

  • On the web today

Play in any browser and add it to the home screen. iPhone, iPad and Android apps are next.

How it works

Three steps, the way reading really starts.

Tap a tile to hear it

  1. Hear the sound

M says /m/, not “em”. Children learn the sound each letter makes first, so they can read rather than spell.

  2. Join two sounds

Say /m/, then /a/, closer and closer — and you hear “ma”. That's blending, the key skill of reading.

  3. Read the word

Syllables become words, words become little stories. Every new letter wakes up a friend on the meadow.

What's inside

The meadow with every letter friendBoomiki on a phone

The meadow

Every letter of the alphabet as a friend. Touch or sweep a finger across them to hear their sounds.

The reading path: stations from letters to syllables

The reading path

Station by station: letters, then syllables, then words. Friends wake up as your child learns them. In Russian today; the English path is next.

The games corner: colouring, puzzle, fireflies, maze, glide, shells, hide and seek

A dozen games

Fireflies, a maze, memory shells, mosaic, colouring, hide and seek and more — each one practises sounds.

Safe to hand to your child

  • No ads, ever

No ads in the game or on this site, and no ad trackers anywhere near your child.

  • Plays offline

Download it once from the parents' corner; it plays in the car, on the plane, anywhere.

  • Nothing about your child leaves the device

Progress stays on the tablet. We never ask a child for a name, an email or a photo.

  • Grown-up things stay grown-up

Settings open only with a grown-up's long press, and nothing a child taps can buy anything. On this site, sign-ups sit behind a grown-up question.

Free to start. One plan for the whole path.

The meadow and the first stretch of the path are free, for good. The Boomiki ABC plan opens the whole reading path, the stories and every game.

Where Boomiki is going

One cast of friends, one glass block on their heads. What goes inside the block sets the subject.

  1. Now

    Boomiki ABC

Reading in Russian: the full path, from sounds to first stories. In English: every letter's sound and the games.

  2. Next

    The English reading path

UK synthetic phonics order: s, a, t, p, i, n… with words from the first week.

  3. Then

    Boomiki 123

Numbers and counting: a friend with a digit hops as many times as its number.

  4. After that

    Boomiki Logic

Patterns, sorting and first steps in coding — no reading needed.

Questions parents ask

What age is Boomiki ABC for?

Children aged 3–6, mostly before they can read. Older children who are just starting to read enjoy the later stations.

Why sounds and not letter names?

Reading means turning letters into sounds and joining them. A child who knows that M says /m/ can read “ma”; a child who knows “em” can't. That's why every friend says its sound.

Is it really free?

Yes. The meadow, the first stations of the path and hide and seek are free, with no time limit and no ads. The Boomiki ABC plan opens the rest.

Which languages?

Russian has the full reading path today. English has every letter's sound and the games; the English reading path is next. Bilingual families can switch languages in the parents' corner.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Download it once in the parents' corner and it plays with no internet.

What do you know about my child?

Nothing. Progress stays on your device, the game has no trackers, and we never ask a child for personal information. See Privacy for kids.

Which devices?

Any modern browser on a tablet, phone or computer, and you can add it to the home screen. Apps for iPhone, iPad and Android are next.

How long should my child play?

About ten minutes a day is plenty. Each station is short, and the game never pushes for more.

How do I cancel?

Online, in your account, at any time — no emails or phone calls. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. See the refund policy.
